Liga Inggris: Fulham vs MU 2-0

Bermain di kandang Fulham, Craven Cottage, Sabtu (21/3/2009), MU kalah 0-2. Upaya untuk kembali memperlebar jarak dari lawan-lawannya menjadi terhambat. Di bulan Maret ini, MU sudah mengalami dua kali kekalahan di Liga Inggris.

Kekalahan MU berawal karena Paul Scholes terkena kartu merah karena menahan bola tandukan Bobby Zamora dengan tangannya di dalam kotak penalti. Otomatis wasit memberikan hadiah penalti kepada Fulham. Eksekutor penalti Fulham, Danny Murphy, berhasil memasukkan bola ke gawang MU di menit ke-18.

Memasuki babak kedua, Berbatov diganti dengan Rooney. Serangan MU memang semakin menggigit. Namun karena Fulham yang bermain bertahan, MU jadi sulit menembusnya. Fulham hanya mengharapkan serangan balik saja.

Sebenarnya banyak peluang MU untuk mencetak gol. Tapi kiper Fulham, Mark Schwarzer, tampil bagus saat itu. Sudah beberapa kali dia bisa menepis tendangan Park Ji-Sung, Rooney, dan Ronaldo.

Pada menit ke-87, MU kebobolan lagi karena serangan balik Fulham. Zoltan Gera berhasil memasukkan bola dengan tendangan salto ke gawang MU. Fulham begitu mudahnya melakukan serangan balik karena MU sudah bermain menyerang. Pada menit ke-69, Fergie mengeluarkan John O'Shea dan memasukkan Tevez. Otomatis MU jadi tampil menyerang.

MU mencoba kembali menekan. Sebuah pelanggaran membuat MU mendapat tendangan bebas. Rooney yang mengambil tendangan tidak pada tempatnya, minta diulang oleh wasit. Rooney emosi dan membuang bola dengan emosinya. Rooney langsung menerima kartu kuning kedua dan harus keluar.

Sudah tidak ada harapan lagi untuk menang. MU pun akhirnya harus menerima kekalahan di Craven Cottage. Memang bulan ini merupakan bulan kesialan bagi MU. Ya, namanya juga pertandingan. Harus ada yang kalah dan yang menang. Ayo semangat, THE RED DEVILS!!!

Akhirnya keluar juga hasil drawing (undian) perempat Final Liga Champions 2008/2009. Drawing ini dilakukan oleh Sekretaris Jenderal UEFA, David Taylor, dan Duta Besar partai final Liga Champions, Bruno Conti, di Nyon, Swiss, 20 Maret 2009.

Ada dua klub Inggris yang harus bertempur habis-habisan di perempat final Liga Champions. Mereka adalah Liverpool dan Chelsea. Dua klub Inggris lainnya, Manchester United (MU) dan Arsenal tidak saling bertemu.

Manchester United bertemu dengan FC Porto (Portugal) dan Arsenal bertemu dengan Villarreal (Spanyol). Satu partai lagi, Barcelona (Spanyol) akan bertemu dengan Bayern Muenchen (Jerman).

Di babak semifinal Liga Champions, pemenang laga Liverpool vs Chelsea akan bertemu dengan pemenang Barcelona vs Bayern Muenchen. Sementara pemenang laga MU vs FC Porto akan bertemu dengan pemenang laga Villarreal vs Arsenal. Leg pertama perempat final berlangsung pada 7-8 April 2009 dan leg kedua pada 14-15 April 2009.

Vidic Dihukum Dalam Dua Pertandingan

Bek Manchester United, Nemanja Vidic, dijatuhi hukuman tidak boleh bertanding dalam dua laga setelah terkena kartu merah saat melawan Liverpool (14/3/2009) kemarin.

Hukuman itu berlaku untuk dua pertandingan MU berikutnya, yaitu saat melawan Fulham (21/3/2009) dan Aston Villa (dua minggu setelahnya). Dia terkena kartu merah akibat akumulasi kartu kuning yang diterimanya saat melakukan pelanggaran kepada Gerrard. Akibat kartu merah itulah MU menjadi kalah kemarin.

Hukuman itu memang agak berat. Sebenarnya, kalau menurut peraturan resmi atas sanksi kartu merah, Vidic memang hanya dilarang satu kali tampil. Tapi, karena dia sudah dua kali terkena kartu merah dalam musim ini, maka FA menambah sanksi yang harus dijalaninya menjadi 2 kali tidak boleh tampil.

Sir Alex Fergusson tampaknya tidak terlalu ambil pusing dengan keadaan ini. Soalnya dia masih memiliki pengganti Vidic sebagai bek tengah, Jonny Evans. Evans juga mampu bermain bagus dalam membantu jantung pertahanan United. Memang Evans top lah!!!!
